Many precautions are still required to prevent diabetes. Athletic shoes having proper fitting should be used as they prevent any blisters to occur. Best time for walking is 1- 2 hours after a meal when you are required to burn your excess sugar in blood. Drink fluids like all sorts of juices but avoid adding sugar to it as it would increase the sugar level in blood.

Not only sugar level, one should even keep a record of blood pressure and weight. They do help in taking care of your proper health. Ask your doctor to check your urine for protein every year. Diet also plays an important role in deciding your health. Processed carbohydrates should be avoided as they increase the sugar level. Breakfast should be rich in protein and avoid going for carbohydrates. One should keep in mind to not to take carbohydrates before 2 hours of your sleeping time.

On keeping these things in mind, one can try best to control and prevent diabetes.
